Mary Bowie is an experienced insurance lawyer with over 16 years in the London market, specialising in governance for ESG, emerging tech, and AI. Currently, she serves as Lead Legal Counsel UK at Verisk, a NASDAQ-listed data analytics company, where she oversees the UK legal function and advises on governance frameworks, policies, and stakeholder relations.

Previously, Mary held senior legal roles at Wakam and Miller Insurance, gaining deep expertise in distribution, service, and specialty insurance. Alongside her legal work, Mary is a certified Information Privacy Professional and a qualified leadership coach, with a strong focus on DEI initiatives.

Her commitment to inclusion has earned her recognition as an Elite Woman of Insurance Business UK in 2022 and 2023.

Mary chairs the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Insurance Institute of London and is active in charitable work as a Trustee and Grants Committee member for The Insurance Charities.

Passionate about mentorship, she supports peer mentoring in various networks and advocates for gender-inclusive networking from a young age.
